The Story of Kilikanoon
EST. 1997, Clare Valley
Founded in 1997,
by winemaker Kevin Mitchell, Kilikanoon was born in the heartof South Australia’s Clare Valley. Inspired by generations of winegrowers, Kevin set out to craft wines that express the region’s distinctive terroir.
Guided by his father Mort Mitchell, who has tended the family’s Golden Hillside vineyards for over four decades, Kevin’s deep understanding of terroir was forged among these vines.
The first Kilikanoon wines — The Oracle Shiraz, The Prodigal Grenache, Blocks Road Cabernet, and Mort’s Block Watervale Riesling, captured the essence of this heritage and the land that inspired them.

Our Geography
The Clare Valley is one of the world’s great wine regions, three parallel valleys defined by unique soils, altitudes, and climates.
At its southern end lies Kilikanoon’s Golden Hillside vineyards, Mort’s Block, Covenant, Walton’s, and Attunga, with the Tregea Vineyard nearby in the cooler Skilly Valley, beside our historic Cellar Door.
