Celebrating Clare Valley Grenache

The Walton 1946 Grenache is sourced from the historic Walton Vineyard, originally planted in 1946 and home to some of the oldest Grenache vines in the Clare Valley. These low-yielding vines, combined with Clare Valley’s elevation, varied soils and cool nights, produce Grenache wines of remarkable intensity, balance and longevity.

The 2021 vintage showcases the strength of Clare Valley Grenache, offering depth of flavour, purity of fruit and a strong sense of place - hallmarks of Kilikanoon’s winemaking philosophy.

Critical Acclaim from The Vintage Journal

Receiving 97 points in The Vintage Journal South Australian Wine Guide 2026 is a significant achievement and reinforces Kilikanoon’s long-standing commitment to site selection, old-vine viticulture and crafting premium Clare Valley wines.

This recognition further highlights the growing reputation of Clare Valley Grenache as one of Australia’s most exciting and expressive red wine styles.
