Kilikanoon strikes Gold.. again

Kilikanoon strikes Gold.. again

Kilikanoon is delighted to be awarded two Gold Medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards, one of the world’s largest & most influential wine competition.

It is judged by the top wine experts around the globe & is trusted internationally for its rigorous judging process.

Judging took place over 28 consecutive days, with 16,518 Wines from around the World tasted.

Amongst the very best Kilikanoon’s 2017 Baudinet GSM & 2018 Mort’s Block where both scored 95 Points & awarded Gold Medals.

Chief Winemaker Peter Warr describes the 2017 Baudinet GSM as “silky, textural, round in the mouth, yet delightfully linear in style. Palate brings tar & spice, red fruits & cherries from the nose all come together in a long & persistent finish, perfectly expanded by fine grained tannins, natural acidity and layers of smoky oak char”. The 2017 Baudinet GSM has the potential of aging for 12-15 years.

The 2018 Mort’s Block Riesling is composed of hand selected parcels chose from across our iconic Golden Hillside Vineyard, in Watervale Sub-Region. Peter Warr states that the 2018 Mort’s Block Riesling is “appealing, lively & spine-tingling to its core. The palate perfectly balances the flavours of lime juice, lemon curd & subtle tropical notes with naturally occurring acidity in a generous yet tightly wound, persistent finish”. Potential of at least 20 years in the cellar.

Both wines are available currently available or via our online shop.
