On Tuesday 24th of October Kilikanoon Wines celebrated 20 years of premium winemaking by Kevin Mitchell, one of Australia’s top winemakers.

The celebration was held on Tregea’s Terrace, at the picturesque Kilikanoon Cellar Door in Penwortham – the birthplace of Kilikanoon Wines. Guests were treated to a four course dinner by Seed Winehouse + Kitchen matched with back and current vintages of Kilikanoon’s original quartet of wines.

Music by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra played between courses enriched the wine, food, and comradery of the evening. Nathan Waks, former Principal Cellist, surprised guests with a touching solo performance, before joining the affectionately named ‘Attunga Quartet’ to form a rare quintet of power and elegance.

Winemaker, Kevin Mitchell, spoke about the origins of Kilikanoon, from its humble beginnings to being named Australian Winery of the Year across various publications. “We’ve come a long way since we started right here [the cellar door] with the family. It has been a long road, and I can’t thank everyone enough. We’ve had a lot of luck, but would not be here without our friends, supporters, and family," Kevin said.
