Kilikanoon Named Australia’s Clare Valley Top Red Blend at 2025 International Wine Challenge

We are thrilled to share some exciting news from the 2025 International Wine Challenge in London. The 2021 Baudinet GSM has been awarded the Australian Clare Valley Red Blend Trophy, receiving a top score of 96 points!

The Baudinet GSM brings together Grenache, Shiraz, and Mataro from carefully selected vineyards across the Clare Valley, including the Baudinet family vineyard, a long-standing partner of the Kilikanoon story. The 2021 vintage benefited from ideal conditions: good late winter and early spring rains followed by a remarkably cool summer, leading to a long ripening period that produced fruit with perfect balance, vibrant colour, and concentrated flavours.

Traditional winemaking techniques were used throughout, hand plunged small open fermenters, gentle basket pressing, and maturation in seasoned French oak for 15 months.

What the judges had to say:

Understated and floral with violets and blueberry. Lithe and juicy with fine tannins and persistent flavour. Delicate yet rich and full of character. Layered and complex with dark fruit, olive, and rosemary. Very appealing.

To be recognised on the world stage is a fantastic honour for our team, and we couldn’t be prouder of the exceptional quality of this wine.
