The release of the 2020 James Halliday Wine Companion results showcase Kilikanoon’s uncompromising commitment to produce premium quality, consistent wines year after year.
Halliday has consistently awarded the Kilikanoon portfolio high point scores across all varieties and indeed several regions. This year, 10 wines received a score of 94 points or above which highlights Kilikanoon’s strength in Shiraz, with four scoring 95 points or more.
The 2015 Oracle Shiraz has been awarded 95 points, re-enforcing the pedigree for this amazing wine. The 2014 Oracle Shiraz was declared “Best Shiraz in the World” at the 2018 International Wine & Spirit Competition & the 2015 Oracle Shiraz received a Gold Medal at the 2019 International Wine Challenge.
The 2014 Attunga 1865 Shiraz, which received the “Best in Show” at the Decanter Wine Awards again shone through with a score of 95 points.
Current release 2017 Mort’s Reserve Riesling scored 95 points with Halliday’s review stating “Riesling on a power run, extraordinarily intense, akin to lime juice wrestling with a python. I'll back the wine” & we agree! Why wouldn’t you back the wine when the 2016 Mort’s Reserve Riesling was awarded the “Best in Show – Australian White Wine” at the Mundus Vini Awards?
Finally Kilikanoon would like to congratulate Jim Barry Wines for being awarded ‘Australian Winery of the Year’. That makes two Clare Wineries being inducted into this Hall of Fame after Kilikanoon in 2013. We can’t wait to see a third…and fourth…
