The 2019 James Halliday Wine Companion results testify to Kilikanoon’s uncompromising commitment to produce premium quality, consistent wines year after year.
Halliday has consistently awarded the Kilikanoon portfolio high point scores across all varieties and indeed several regions. This year, 12 wines from the core Clare Valley portfolio and a further five wines from other regions such as McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley, scored 90 points or above.
Following the release of the 2019 Halliday Companion scores, Kilikanoon has an amazing 25 different marques with scores of 90 points or above; 19 of which in fact carry 94 points or more. At the pinnacle of the portfolio are the current vintage Revelation and Attunga ‘1865’ Shiraz, equally holding 97 points.
Current vintage wines from Kilikanoon’s portfolio feature 11 red wines with 95 Halliday points and above, including the 2013 Tregea Reserve Cabernet, 2013 Attunga Mataro, 2013 Baudinet GSM all with 96 points; whilst the 2013 Kelly 1932 Grenache and the recently released 2015 Covenant Shiraz both awarded 95 points.

Current release 2015 Mort’s Reserve Riesling scored 96 points last year, with the new 2016 vintage due for release in spring, awarded the exact same score. Halliday’s review describes the new vintage of this hallmark Riesling as having the “X-factor in the unbridled power and complexity of the texture and structure.” The soon to be released 2017 vintage of the famed Mort’s Block Riesling also took home 96 points.
The Killerman’s Run range continues to represent incredible value, with the 2017 Riesling scoring 94 points, 2015 GSM 91 points and 2016 Shiraz and 2016 Cabernet awarded an equal 90 points.
