2015 was an excellent vintage overall. A very dry Spring was broken by soaking rains in January and February that put the vintage back on track. Cool conditions for the most part of February finished things off well, spacing out the harvest and allowing individual fruit parcels to be harvested at their optimum ripeness.
Predominantly from our Farehams and Morrisons Vineyards in Leasingham. Picked mid Feb. Fermented in open fermenters for 7-8 days. Pumpover twice daily. Basket pressed into quality French oak hogsheads 5% new balance 2-5 years old. Maturation in barrel for 15 months prior to blending and bottling. No Fining or filtration.
Brick red in colour with youthful crimson hues.
Complex aromas of dark cherry, red plum, licorice and dried herbs.
Perfectly balanced with vibrant upfront red fruits and complex savoury nuances. The fruit is supported by fine ripe tannin which give definition and structure to a long and persistent finish.

Shiraz predominantly from our Farehams and Morrisons Vineyard in Leasingham, Cabernet from Malcolm Parish’s vineyard and Farehams. Shiraz picked mid Feb, Cabernet early march. Fermented in open fermenters for 7-8 days. Pumpover twice daily. Basket pressed into quality French oak hogsheads 5% new balance 2-5 years old. Maturation in barrel for 15months prior to blending and bottling. No Fining or filtration.

Dark cherry and plum notes from the shiraz are complemented with dusty blackberry and choc mint notes from the cabernet.
Generous, full and vibrant. Complex red and black fruit flavours are encased in a firm savoury tannin structure. Bright acidity on the finish gives length and persistence.

An expressive regional soul mate to our Clare Valley and McLaren Vale individual Shiraz, Testament illustrates the varietal richness and unique regional characters that the Barossa Valley is so famous for.
Vinified using our traditional Kilikanoon methods of open fermentation and basket pressing and sourced from both Estate owned vineyards in Greenock and Vine Vale and private growers vineyards in Ebenezer. Aged in new and older French and American oak hogsheads before bottling unfined unfiltered.
