Morrison's Block

Horrock's Highway, Leasingham, Clare Valley, South Australia, 5452 | 18.67 ha under vine

Purchased by Kilikanoon in 2008, this vineyard has become one of the premium Shiraz producing blocks in the Kilikanoon portfolio. Planted in red brown earth over limestone on a easterly  aspect, the oldest vines here date back to the early 1970's.

With fruit ranging from the Valley floor to the ridgeline, the layered soils produce a wide array of flavours in the various varieties planted here. This fruit produces a wide range of options for style from year to year and allows the crafting of such blends as the Morrison Shiraz Cabernet.

2019 Morrison Shiraz Cabernet

A uniquely Australian blend of Shiraz (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) is composed to create this wine of power and distinction. The Morrison Vineyard for which the wine is named, is situated directly across from the winery in the sub region of Leasingham. This vineyard is affectionately known as “The Golden Hillside” for the spectacular way the vineyard glistens in the morning sun.
