2010 Revelation Shiraz

At the very pinnacle of our Kilikanoon portfolio is Revelation; a celebration of the very best wine made at Kilikanoon in any given year. Unrestrained by varietal, vineyard or regional convention, this wine represents a blend that surpasses all those other wines beneath it.
The inaugral vintage of Revelation in 2010 was created from two estate grown Clare Valley Shiraz vineyards. Made in tiny quantities and using traditional winemaking techniques, the wine was matured in 100% new French oak hogsheads for 24 months before bottling both unfined and unfiltered. It has been given well over eighteen months to further improve and mature in the bottle before release.

Wine Review
The inaugural release of this wine, a selection of the best barrels of the vintage, this year from Kilikanoon's estate plantings in the Clare Valley. It combines richness and intensity of black fruit flavour with surprising, and rare, elegance, most particularly on the long, finely structured finish and aftertaste.

Wine Review
Inky purple. Explosive black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by pipe tobacco, smoky oak spices, licorice and tar. Sweet, palate-staining dark berry liqueur flavours show surprising vivacity and pick up a sexy violet pastille quality with air. The spice and floral qualities cling strongly on the finish, which is firmed by dusty, fine-grained tannins. I'd definitely let this one age for at least another decade.

"He demonstrates a brilliant touch with Riesling as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The cuvees produced under the 'Killerman's Run' label all represent terrific bargains"
