For the 15th(!) year in a row, Kilikanoon has been recognised as a Top 5 Red Star Winery by the Halliday Wine Companion. This is a rare feat and one we are very proud of.
Of our 12 wine entries we received seven GOLD medals or above (95+ points) and three TOP VALUE awards, which displays a fantastic combination of high points and exceptional value.

He continued, “I am particularly proud of the 93 points for our Killerman’s Run GSM which shows how our quest for quality comes through in our introductory level wines as well as the 95 points (GOLD) for our single vineyard Ashton Mataro which will hopefully entice new consumers to appreciate an often misunderstood grape varietal.”

About Kilikanoon:
Kilikanoon was founded in 1997 when Kevin Mitchell purchased the picturesque Kilikanoon property nestled in the hamlet of Penwortham. Since then, the winery has evolved from a modest, inaugural vintage of four single vineyard wines into a Clare Valley institution, with Kevin’s fascination in terroir being the driving force of Kilikanoon’s winemaking philosophy.
Kilikanoon was thrust into the national spotlight when it won six of the seven trophies awarded at the 2002 Clare Valley Wine Show.
Since then, its signature ‘Oracle Shiraz’ has been voted World’s Best Shiraz three times in eleven years, as well as being listed in the Langton’s Classification as “Excellent”. In 2013 Kilikanoon was awarded Australian Winery of the Year by James Halliday, as well as holding an elusive 5 Red Star Rating since 2008.
