Our Kilikanoon winemaking team push the boundaries each harvest, seeking out new varietals and creating new styles to entice wine lovers. Delving into the sub regions of the Clare Valley provides an endless world of possibility; diverse microclimates, soils and aspect, all combine to provide a rich palette for experimentation. It is through this lens that we bring you Kx; Kilikanoon’s Small Batch wines.
Heralding from central Italy, the Sangiovese grape is at home in the inland, high altitude region of the Clare. A slow ripening variety, the bunches have additional time each season to reflect the vintage and vineyard conditions each year. This seed loaded grape is finely utilized when making rose wines as the early harvest and pressing removing these tannins, which in turn amplifies the bright red berry and cherry flavours seen in the traditional vinification.

The wine is great drinking – white strawberry rolled into cranberry drink, rosehip tea, a touch of cashew nut savouriness and some dashes of cinnamon spice. Dry, pale, savoury, but with enough flavour and good balance of freshness, pretty fruit and general interest. Likeable stuff. Mike Bennie - Halliday Wine Companion

Delicate and textural with hints of grapefruit, melon
