Place
Harvested from premium vineyards across the Clare Valley, bunches are delicately handled to bring out the unique characters of each block. Kilikanoon vineyards span all three valleys that make up the distinctive environment of the Clare Valley region.
Our grapes are grown on Ngadjuri country.
Vintage Conditions
Nourished by the replenishing winter rains, the 2021 vintage produced balanced yields of intensely flavoured fruit. Cooler than previous seasons, the mild days and cool nights allowed the fruit to ripen slowly. Under these ideal conditions, the Shiraz thrived
with the berries naturally concentrating their flavours even further.
Winemaking
With the vineyards spanning the length of the Valley, parcels were able to be harvested at opportune time as the berries developed their rich flavour profile. Crushed into stainless steel tanks, the grapes were allowed to naturally begin fermentation. Once
completed, the skins were pressed, and the wine placed into new and seasoned French oak hogsheads for 14 months. Once each batch softened, a blend that shows the refinement and richness of cooler climate Shiraz was created by selecting barrels out of
each batch.

Tasting Notes
Back Vintage Tasting Notes-
Appearance
Deep red in colour, that carries all the way through to the final purple hue.
-
Nose
Bright red berries and subtle spiced plum aromas overlay soft fresh herbs with a touch of graphite.
-
Palate
Ripe dark berry flavours of blackcurrant and fresh raspberries are underpinned by subtle notes of mocha and dried green herbs, while hints of fine French oak seamlessly appear and drive a persistency on the finish. This wine is in its prime now and will further enrich with time in the cellar.
