Vintage Conditions

A dry and warm vintage, 2020 has delivered reduced yields of highly flavoured fruit. Lower than average rainfall further concentrated the natural structure and through careful fruit
selection and final blending, this final wine truly shows the essence of this variety that the Clare Valley can deliver.

Winemaking

All parcels were vinified using traditional methods in small open topped fermenters before basket pressing to a range of new and seasoned French oak casts. After fifteen months maturation, the final cuvee' was assembled and bottled without fining or filtration.

    Brick red in colour with bright crimson hues.

    Dark fruits, sweeter cassis, a touch of mint and riper red fruits combine harmoniously on the nose. Perfectly supported and enhanced by the subtle charry oak in the background.

    Palate

    Often described as the perfect Aussie red blend, the unique characters of both varieties come together, the cassis, black fruits, spicy oak notes and darker plum flavours in perfect sync, a rich tapestry in a layered and persistent finish.
