Place
From the single vineyard, named Tregea located in the sub-region of Penwortham, Clare Valley. This vineyard sits next to the Kilikanoon Cellar Door at an altitude of 380 metres. The Cellar Door's terrace has a name fittingly called Tregea Terrace as it overlooks this vineyard.
Vintage Conditions
2019 proved to be a warm and dry year. With deep soils and natural valley shading, the fruit was able to ripen in warm air while still being protected. The intense and bright classic flavours were fully developed while still retaining a fine structure.
Winemaking
Fruit was handpicked and crushed to a small open top fermenter. Permitted to naturally initiate fermentation. Co-fermented for 16 days on skins. Basket pressed and barrelled to French oak hogs' heads from central and southern forests.

Tasting Notes
Back Vintage Tasting Notes-
Appearance
Dark, inky red with a bright crimson hue.
-
Nose
Forrest currants are underpinned by notes of cold tea, bay leaf and spiced cherry.
-
Palate
A deep brambly & cranberry core radiate across the palate. These developing fruit notes seamlessly give way to the unmistakeable varietal flavours of subtle tomato leaf, olive tapenade, black plums & earthy tones. The long & integrated finish transitions flawlessly to subtle savoury oak – refined, elegant and fresh.
