Place
Our Baroota vineyards lie between peaks of the magnificent Southern
Flinders Ranges and the sparkling waters of the Spencer Gulf. These fertile, alluvial flood plains are cooled at night by the gully breezes from above, providing an ideal environment for growing premium Shiraz.
Vintage Conditions
The Baroota vineyards enjoy a Mediterranean climate, the cold wet winters and warm dry summers perfect for the production of full bodied red wines.
Winemaking
Our Reserve Shiraz is carefully selected from some of the first parcels of Shiraz to ripen on our vineyards. Each batch vinified separately, aged in small oak casks for 15 months and craftily blended before bottling unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes
Back Vintage Tasting Notes-
Appearance
Deep red in colour with crimson hues.
-
Nose
Intensely lifted and focused, the flavours of ripe plums, red fruits, kitchen spices, tar and subtle, smoky French oak notes come together on the nose.
-
Palate
Richly textured and focused, the tempting flavours of sweet plums, dark cherries, hints of chocolate and cocoa are further enhanced by the contribution of French oak highlights and polished tannins in a rewarding palate experience.
Not usually a Shiraz drinker I find them too dry and often too harsh ( not a wine expert so please excuse my terminology) this one was a delightful surprise! Full bodied but a little less dry ..actually it has a mellowness I wouldn't normally associate with Shiraz..buying more of this one...I loved it
Whilst on line with NZ friends and Australia the UK an evening with a bottle of Baroota Reserve 2016 was enjoyed . Sham the Zoom programme by which we connect did not allow me to share.
