Clare Valley, South Australia, 7th April 2022

At the 5th edition of the London Wine Competition which took place in London on March 21 and 22, 2022, Kilikanoon Wines won three Gold medals, an ultimate seal of approval in the global wine industry.

The following wines all scored highly in the judging criteria of quality, value and packaging to receive this honour.

  • Killerman’s Run GSM 2020 – GOLD
  • Skilly Valley Pinot Gris 2021 – GOLD
  • Covenant Shiraz 2018 – GOLD

General Manager Travis Fuller of Kilikanoon Wines commented “Following on from our success at Mundus Vini, I am delighted to see our wines continuing to be recognised. The London Wine Competition looks to recognise and reward wines that have successfully been created to tick all the boxes - quality, value and packaging; so to achieve high points across all three boxes is a great result.

“At Kilikanoon we have an unwavering commitment to quality and style as well as showcasing the global appeal of Clare Valley Wines” he continued. “Results like these help not only to drive sales but also open up new markets. As The London Wine Competition is judged by the leading international Master of Wines, Master Sommeliers and real trade buyers, this provides an excellent platform to showcase our new vintage releases which are just a few months away.”

About Kilikanoon Wines

Kilikanoon was founded in 1997 when Kevin Mitchell purchased the picturesque Kilikanoon property nestled in the hamlet of Penwortham. Since then, the winery has evolved from a modest, inaugural vintage of four single vineyard wines into a Clare Valley institution, with Kevin’s fascination in terroir being the driving force of Kilikanoon’s winemaking philosophy.

Kilikanoon was thrust into the national spotlight when it won six of the seven trophies awarded at the 2002 Clare Valley Wine Show.

Since then, its signature ‘Oracle Shiraz’ has been voted World’s Best Shiraz three times in eleven years, as well as being listed in the Langton’s Classification as “Excellent”. In 2013 Kilikanoon was awarded Australian Winery of the Year by James Halliday, as well as holding an elusive 5 Red-Star Rating since 2008.
