Kilikanoon is proud to announce our overwhelming success at the Mundus Vini Grand International Wine Awards by taking home 12 Gold Medals & 4 Silver Medals out of the 18 wines submitted!
Mundus Vini is the wine show associated with Prowein, the world’s most important wine fair, held in Dusseldorf in March each year.
Kilikanoon was also awarded the coveted status of Australian Winery of the Year for the fourth time in 9 years, having also received this accolade in 2010, 2017, and 2018.
The awards do not stop there - the 2016 Mort’s Reserve Riesling was awarded the ‘Best of Show - Australian White’.
As always, the judging panel was comprised of well-respected and reputable wine personalities from around the world including excellent sommeliers, recognized wine specialist retailers, wine journalists and scientists.
Being awarded 12 Gold Medals and receiving Australian Winery of the Year for the third year in a row plus Best of Show Australian White is an unprecedented accomplishment!
Gold medals are only awarded to the best rated wines within a group, which means Kilikanoon consistently impressed the tasting panels with masterfully composed cuvees. Being awarded Australian Winery of the Year three years in a row highlights Kilikanoon’s dedication and uncompromising commitment to quality and style that has made the brand so successful.
It is worthy of note that 8 gold medals were awarded to Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, and GSM wines. Kilikanoon has confirmed its reputation as the best producer of Rhone varieties in Australia.
