Shiraz Viognier is a classic blend originating in the Northern Rhone region of France. As a white grape variety, Viognier is used in very small concentrations (6%) and is co-fermented with the Shiraz grapes. This confluence of varieties creates a rich, powerful, and unctuous wine. The rare and unique Viognier provides lifted apricot notes to mingle with the dark berry spice of the Shiraz, culminating in a wine that is slippery
The co-fermentation and blending of Viognier with Shiraz has its roots in the Northern Rhone Valley in France. The Viognier gives a floral lift and fragrance to the Shiraz, creating a balanced and elegant wine. Whole bunches of Viognier were fermented with destemmed shiraz to create harmony between the two varieties.
Plush dark red berries, cinnamon, and clove with perfumed florals and a hint of dried apricot.
Stewed plums, dark cherries, and cranberry with dark chocolate. Lively acidity and supple powdery tannins carry through to a moreish finish.
