2014 Killerman's Run Shiraz - CASE

2014 Killerman’s Run Shiraz: 12 Bottles for $150 (Only $12.50 per bottle)

The reclusive Alan Webster lived alone in the years after the second world war in the scrubland behind the Kilikanoon cellar door, west of the hamlet of Penwortham. Trapping rabbits, growing his own fruits and vegetables and making his own wines in a galvanised lean to, he was given the nickname 'Killerman' by Mort Mitchell and his friends when they were growing up, after Alan’s bush survival skills of 'kill em and eat em', thus the legend of Killerman was born.

  • Winemaking

Generally a warm and dry vintage, 2014 provided ideal ripening conditions to maximise enhanced flavour development and palate generosity. The Clare Valley’s celebrated terroir and elevation is essential for retaining high natural acidities, fruit freshness and fine grained tannins, which are instrumental in creating cellar worthy wines. All of our Killerman's Run range have been crafted through careful fruit selection, traditional winemaking techniques, sixteen months maturation in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads and bottling unfi ltered to fully enhance the wines character and appeal.

Brick red in colour with youthful crimson tints.

Aromas of dark cherries, smoked meats and toasty French oak seductively combine in a classic Clare driven style.

A textural and complex palate, its multicipity of dark fruits, licorice twist and brooding tannins wrapped in subtle French oak provide a lingering and persistent finish.
