2009 Kilikanoon Mort’s Reserve Watervale Riesling (Clare Valley)
This Mort’s Reserve has been held back for further bottle age and is now drinking perfectly. The 2009 has an impressive list of awards and is now further aged for a wonderful drinking experience.
Released as the finest Riesling cuveé of the vintage, the Mort’s Reserve is chosen from a single block on our famed Mort’s Block vineyard. Planted in 1970, it’s red loamy topsoil over the much deeper limestone base and east – west orientated rows are the perfect ingredients from which to craft this wine.
Brilliant in Clarity, almost transparent in colour with subtle green tints.
Best described as intensely floral, citrus lime and lemon scented, overtly varietal yet sensually restrained.
Full Flavoured yet delicate and precise, the palate is all fresh lime juice and lemon zest, beautifully balanced and enhanced by its piercing natural acidity.
