Planted in 1970, it’s red loamy topsoil over the much deeper limestone base and east – west orientated rows are the perfect ingredients from which to craft this wine.

Planted in 1970, it’s red loamy topsoil over the much deeper limestone base and east – west orientated rows are the perfect ingredients from which to craft this wine.
The 2016 vintage proved to be an excellent one for Riesling. We carefully monitored flavour development and identified very early in the vintage which blocks were looking superior. The quality of the fruit almost enabled the wine to make itself. The cooler nights are instrumental in retaining high natural acidities, intense flavours and long ageing potentials.
