Kilikanoon Wines
Grown on the western facing slope of our Estate vineyard in Watervale, the Malbec is only exposed to the afternoon sun. This soft exposure results in the slow ripening of the fruit, which is seen in the vibrant pink that gradually occurs during version. The slow ripening also results in bright aromatics and natural crisp acidity that fil the winery with aromas of passionfruit and raspberries during fermentation.
Harvested at sunrise and placed directly into the press, the press was sealed and the juice is retained on its skins for 2 hours. Allowed to free drain, the juice was cold settled to naturally clarify. The wine was fermented at low temperatures to retain the vibrant aromas.
The bunches for the Rosé were harvested earlier in the season to retain the natural crisp acidity of the fruit. These bunches were held on skins for just a couple of hours, allowing for the colour and ripe flavours to develop before being lightly pressed. The juice was fermented slowly at low temperatures to maintain the bright aromas of the variety.
Strawberry in colour with soft pink hues, the wine has a brilliant clarity.
A watermelon red rose, this wine has bold aromas of passionfruit and white flowers.
This seamlessly develops on the palate with layers of strawberry, rainier cherry and pink lady apples. A crisp natural acidity is finely balance with the soft texture, leaving a clean citrus note on the persistent finish.
