2012 Parable Shiraz

The southern most inclusion in our regional portfolio, the Parable Shiraz sets out to define the McLaren Vale region, its coffee mocha flavours, its textural generosity, its potent maritime influence. 2012 was one the best vintages over the past decade, one that has fulfilled all expectations.
Created traditionally from small individual vineyard parcels, vinification in open fermenters, basket pressing and an almost religious approach to winemaking detail. Careful maturation in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads for 15 months, assemblage and bottling the final blend without fining or filtration has further strengthened its complexity.
Deep red in colour with youthful crimson hues.
Richly presented notes of fresh coffee grounds, dark cherries and French oak spices combine effortlessly on the nose.
A rousing blend of dark cherries, mocha coffee, raspberries and quality French oak easily integrate and finish long and strong in a lingering palate experience. Drinking beautifully now, but will comprehensively provide additional enjoyment if further cellaring is completed.
June 2012.
Potential of at least 15 -18 years with careful cellaring.

"He demonstrates a brilliant touch with Riesling as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The cuvees produced under the 'Killerman's Run' label all represent terrific bargains"
