Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Kilikanoon Wines announce partnership
Thursday 6 August 2015 -- The Sydney Symphony Orchestra has announced a new agreement with Kilikanoon Wines to be the official exclusive still and sparkling wine partner of the SSO. Launched on Sunday at the SSO Chairman’s Brunch, the partnership will see Kilikanoon wines served at SSO Vanguard Series, Salon Series, Lectures, Lunches and special Fundraising events for the next two years.
Kilikanoon Wines has a long standing relationship with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra; Kilikanoon Proprietor and Brand Ambassador Nathan Waks was a former Co-Principal Cellist for the SSO. Discussing the new partnership, Nathan said, “I’ve always wanted Kilikanoon to become the SSO’s Wine Partner- now is the right time to fully explore the many wonderful synergies between music and wine. We are both perfectly placed to do this.”
As part of the new partnership, Kilikanoon has produced two exclusive wines for the SSO and members, the Cello Shiraz and Cello Riesling. Additionally, a new Kilikanoon Wine Club, the Cello Wine Club, has been developed specifically for the enjoyment of SSO members and performers, offering preferential pricing, first access to reserve releases and museum wines, and free freight to all members.
Kilikanoon proprietor and Chairman, Bruce Baudinet, attended the Chairman’s Brunch on behalf of Kilikanoon Wines, where SSO Donors enjoyed Kilikanoon Sparkling Vouvray, Skilly Valley Pinot Gris and Prodigal Grenache. The Cello Wines were also available for tasting. Bruce said, “We are thrilled to be working with Australia’s flagship orchestra, and as one of Australia’s most recognised and award winning wine brands we feel that there is a strong synergy between the two organisations. The long direct connection between us, reflecting Nathan’s dual careers in music and wine, has created an excellent opportunity to combine exceptional music experiences with superb wine.”
